#1

Hi everyone!

Today we’ve released a new version of Neptune and with it, came a few big changes.

Community plan & Public projects

At Neptune we believe that only by working together we can achieve great things. We are working hard to make it available by delivering new tools which will allow data scientists to share their work and collaborate with each other.

Today we introduce our new Community plan. Along with opening Neptune to anyone, we give you the option to open and share your work. Every project in Neptune can now be made public and available under a nice descriptive link like:
https://app.neptune.ml/neptune-ml/Toxic-Comment-Classification-Challenge

You don’t even have to log in to browse experiments in a public project!
Of course projects that are currently private will remain private - don’t worry

Creating a Public Project

When creating a new project simply select a Public Project privacy option.

How to share your public project

To share your public project just copy the url. Example: https://app.neptune.ml/neptune-ml/Toxic-Comment-Classification-Challenge

Usernames

Until now, your email has served as a username in Neptune. Since your username will now be public in your public projects this was no longer an option. This is why the next time you’ll log into Neptune, you will be asked to provide a new username.

CLI Changes

To run experiments in a specific project, you needed to provide a project key either in your configuration files:

project: SAN

or via command line:

neptune experiment run --project SAN

Now

While above syntax will be allowed for a short time, we’re moving towards using full project names (usually along with your usernames):

project: piotr/sandbox

and

neptune experiment run --project piotr/sandbox

Sane Defaults

A shorter form omitting the username part is also allowed (in this case your own username is assumed).

project: sandbox

and

neptune experiment run --project sandbox

Project Activation

Remember that you can always set the active project globally with

neptune project activate piotr/sandbox

Final Words

As usual we’re more than eager to hear your feedback!
